What is The Vertical Rescue Skills Training?
Vertical Rescue Skills is a challenging, hands-on workshop designed to take the experienced rope rescue technician to the next level by developing advanced personal rope access and rescue skills.
This three-day, physically demanding workshop focuses on teaching technicians how to move efficiently between rope systems, transition between configurations, and perform minimalistic rescue techniques when traditional rescue systems may not be practical or necessary.
Participants are introduced to rope access maneuvers commonly encountered in SPRAT and IRATA training programs; however, this workshop is not a substitute for formal SPRAT or IRATA certification.
A key component of the course is the use of a personal rope access kit, provided to each technician with the equipment necessary to perform the skills taught throughout the workshop. Participants develop an intimate understanding of their equipment, learning how each component functions, how the components work together, and how to maximize their capabilities during technical operations.
Throughout the workshop, technicians are challenged to think critically, solve problems, and apply rope access and rescue techniques in dynamic vertical environments. The emphasis is on efficiency, adaptability, equipment knowledge, and sound decision-making rather than relying solely on traditional rescue systems.
This course is designed for technicians who are ready to expand their skill set, improve their personal rope movement capabilities, and develop the confidence to operate more effectively in complex vertical rescue environments.
